Heroes Con

And one more Heroes Con is now wrapped up!!
Did I mention that I drove to Heroes this year? Heroes is in Charlotte, North Carolina. I love in Austin, Texas right now. (The reason is I looked for flights too late so I couldn't afford to fly.) Eyup. That was an 18 HOUR DRIVE. Fun!

Here's a map of our little road trip. Damn this country is huge.

Anywho. Of course the con was as awesome as always, and made the insane journey worth it! It was great to see all my artist friends again and reconnect with the comics community. I heart you all.😍
Here was my Artist Alley table:

And here are some convention sketches that I did!

Thank you so, so much to everyone who came by, whether for a commission or print or just to talk. I had a wonderful time.

Here's me being a dork with some cool artists. ;D
 Till next year, Charlotte!

Convention sketches, and upcoming CHEW special

As always, Heroes Con was an exhausting but fantastic show. Thanks to everyone who dropped by and asked for a commission!
But before any more convention stuff, here's a piece I just finished for the upcoming Warrior Chicken Poyo special (for CHEW, published by Image), that should be out for Comic Con. Pick it up if you see it! The other pieces inside are an absolute riot!

And now for some con sketches~

Sicfi drawings & Society 6 account~

So... I haven't posted any of the stuff I've been drawing since Dragon Con... because I'm lame and a horrible, horrible person.
Ahahaha.
Here's a spaceship concept sheet, and a little cyborg drawing to make it up. ^_^;

Also, I now have an account on Society 6, and a few pieces are already set up for sale!
Give my store a little perusal *here*!
You can get high-quality prints, t-shirts, or tank tops of most pieces, and I'll be adding designs as I come up with more t-shirt-suitable ideas. Even if you can't afford to throw down a few bucks for a t-shirt, a promotion button click on the artwork will be much appreciated. :) :)
Here's just a few of the shirts available now-

Happy 2014, and hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the new year! (*^^*)

Heroes con report

I am back from Heroes Con!
The convention was a blast, and I am proud to say I felt like my shit was finally together this time (banner, products, prints, setup). I sold very few prints and stickers, even though there was plenty of traffic. The things that sell at conventions every year are always unpredictable. On the other hand the last two days just flew by because I was bent over my table constantly pumping out commissions! O_o So all worked out well in the end.

I also got some promo in for the webcomic that I am working on (see here ^_^), but seeing as I've only barely posted 9 pages, I wanted to ease into the marketing. I'll keep on updating once a week, and let everyone know when the story really gets going.

Thank you to everyone who made Heroes Con rock. I still feel like it's one of the few conventions that showcase artists over everything else, and gives artists both a chance to display their work and meet tons of fans. I met a few artists and writers that I admired, and got in quality partying time with fellow Studio Revolver members. That was a gooood convention!

Here are some of my convention sketches to wrap things up. :)

Stickers!!

I am making vinyl stickers! Why? Because they're pretty and cute and gory, and you know you'd want one. Hehehe :P
They've yet to be colored, but here are the inks.
Merry early christmas everybody!

Happy late Dead Turkey Day!

Oh my, it's been a few weeks again...
Once again I've been busy with work that I can't show, in addition to much Thanksgiving partying; but here's a few sketches and a costumed drink 'n draw to keep the blog going. ^_^

And this one's a concept for a graphic novel I'm writing (and hopefully will be drawing in the near future). I definitely need more enviro work in my portfolio, so it's great practice too. The colors are still being worked on, but I'll update with those as soon as it's all done!

Till later!

October 2, 2012

Hello, cold weather.

So yep, I'm down south in Atlanta and it's been cold and rainy on and off for a couple of weeks...

And I HATE IT.
Sucks for me.
Btw, I finished watching the entirety of Game of Thrones, over the span of something like 24 hours. (Is that even possible? There are only 20 episodes...) Time well spent. And yeah, I know I'm a little late. That's what happens when you've been too poor to afford TV until now, and have been procrastinating on connecting your Comcast service. 9_9

Here's some lecture sketches from a James Gurney demo I attended last week-

And some creature drawing I was inspired to do afterwards-
Killer modern velociraptors? How cute!

Plus some messy-ass sketchbook scans, just FYE.
Strange, despite all the comfort I have with digital, there's something about ink and paper than even a Cintiq can't beat. I do prefer to color digitally; but sketching traditionally is still my fave... :)

Old sketches from our (slightly pathetic) zoo to wrap it up-

Cheers! And happy October everybody!

Sketchy fun

I'm inking a small series of covers now, but nothing to post until I get clearance from the franchise creator!

So in the meantime, here's some sketchbook junk, all just for fun/ drawn over dinner. :)
I'm starting to run it of space... booo.
