New Manga Studio comic demo

I made a new process video!
This is a recording of my process for one panel in a recent comic project. The comic was a scroll-style one-shot piece, that told the lore behind an indie game production I'm contributing to.

Gah, I really hope I'm getting better at this recording thing! >.<

The final comic (without text) is as below:

I'm very happy with how the paper texture worked out. The emperor's gold color coding was also a lucky gamble. I hope you like it!

Game project on Steam Greenlight!

Aww yeah! An indie game that I have been doing concept art for for the past year and a half or so just launched on Steam Greenlight!
As of now (1/29)  this game is still live!

It's a beautiful, well done game, everyone. If you have a Steam account, please vote for it or at least check it out and give your judgement then. ;) I can say that the people on this project have put a lot into it. Everyone is a working professional in their field who contributes to this project after work and on weekends.

Hanako is (so far) a team-based PC game, with options for several different warrior classes. The story is set in Sengoku (Warring States) era Japan, and follows two battling samurai clans.

Here's some of the art that I've done for it. :)

Podcast feature, and trip to Japan/ Taiwan

Hello all! It's been a while again.
Apologies for the silence. The new job in Austin has kept me quite busy; I've been doing a lot of work for it, but none of it is material that I can post just yet, so that'll have to wait.

In some exciting news, I was actually just in Japan for Christmas, Comiket, and New Years; and I got to meet up with Deconstructing Comics, a fantastic manga/comics podcast that I've been a long-time listener of. We sat down over coffee, and talked extensively about comics and comic conventions, including all the unique differences to comic cons between Japan and America. Give it a listen HERE!

And here's a dinosaur sketch I just did to make up for the recent lack of artwork. :)

And here are a few pictures from my recent trip, which included Tokyo, Kyoto, and then a week in Taiwan. What a fantastic vacation it was. QuQ <3 br="">

Lust Caution

Pinup!!!!
I feel like I go way overboard every time I decide to do a project. I initially wanted to spend a few days whipping up a pin-up for Ang Lee's Lust Caution, since I like the film and it's a style I rarely tackle.
But of course, as soon as I start drawing, everything has to be PERFECT; so as of now I've spent a month on and off noodling on it. The full-res file is so big it's stupid. -_-

Well, here it is, more or less finished. I'm pretty happy with it, though I think I'll come back to it tomorrow with fresh eyes. It's late and I've been staring at it too long.

*EDIT* I saved a few WIPs as I worked so I figured I could share my process on this one. My very hectic, muddled process......yeah. Haha. :p
